We have been selling Real Estate in the Ottawa market for over 25 years. As award winning Sales Representative's since 1978, we believe in providing our clients with excellent service and pride ourselves on the repeat and referral business we receive from our past clients, friends and family. Our approach to real estate is very personal. We are always directly involved in all phases of the process and ensures that our buyers and seller's know what is occurring at all times.
We are well educated in the Real Estate industry. We both hold Broker's Licenses, and a VIP Referral Agent designation, these designations, We earned in order to better serve our clients and to be more knowledgeable about the industry that is our profession.
We are well supported in our Real Estate career. David is responsible for the daily task of generating new clients, communicating with past clients and promoting and marketing our listings so they sell quickly and our clients maximize their investment with the least amount of inconvenience. Joyce takes care of the marketing and advertising of listings, follows up on activities, paperwork and handles many of the details of the business. Joyce has been in Real Estate sales since 1978 and brings a great deal of knowledge and experience to our team. At Century 21 John DeVries Ltd., the administrative staff provides outstanding support. Wendy Soucier, Listing Coordinator, takes care of appointments, processing of the listing to the MLS system and follow-up. Liz Keith, Sales and Client Service Coordinator, handles all of the paper and legal work with regard to each of my transactions. With over 10 years experience she knows the agreement of Purchase and Sale and the legal process thoroughly and immediately notices any problems or concerns.
In 1998, David served as President of the Ottawa Real Estate Board (OREB). The purpose of OREB is to administer the local MLS system, supervise ethics and regulate the local business practices, liaise with provincial and national organizations and governments with regard to real estate and promote the Realtor in the local area. From 2003 -2005, he served on the Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA) Board of Director's as Regional Director for Eastern Ontario. OREA represents the 33,000 member Realtors in Ontario. These experience's have given him an in-depth knowledge of the industry, technology, future trends and concerns and allows him to better serve and inform our clients. It has also raised his profile within the local industry that often assists him in selling homes more effectively.
Joyce is Ottawa born and raised. She grew up in McKellar Heights before moving to rural Kanata in 1974. David is originally from England but moved to Kanata with his family in 1974, at the age of 14. We both attended Earl of March High School, then David went to the University of Ottawa were he obtained a Bachelor of Physical Education and Joyce went to Algonquin College and obtained a Diploma in Business Administration (Marketing). Prior to Real Estate David worked in the field of Recreation. He worked for the City of Nepean as a Recreation Programmer for several years before becoming a Programme Coordinator and later Executive Director at the Hunt Club/Riverside Community Centre. Joyce worked for Digital Equipment Canada after Algonquin College and then worked for CMHC before joining Century 21 John DeVries.
We met in High School and were married in 1982. We have two children, Laura and Mark. As a family we enjoy spending time camping, downhill skiing and traveling. Both our children share David's interest in soccer. David still play with the Falcons Soccer Club and coach with Ottawa South United. We love to watch my budding superstars play too. Now living in Barrhaven, Nepean we all enjoy an active family life. Laura plays competitive soccer, a typical teenager she has a busy social life, is on Student's Council at John McRae High School and still loves to read. She is planning to study Journalism at University in September. Mark plays guitar, soccer, loves his Xbox, and is a real comedian. He is a math whiz and is contemplating a career in Architecture.
